Netscape Mail Configuration
Screenshots and instructions are available for Netscape 4.x-6.x. See the appropriate section below.
Netscape 4.x
In Netscape (versions 4-4.7), you can configure your mail by going to Edit/Preferences. Enter the information in the Identity section as shown below and then move on . . .

Go down to the Mail Server selection and enter the information below to complete the configuration of Netscape mail. In Netscape v4.51 and higher, the Mail Server screen looks a bit different. Follow this link for a look.

Fill out the fields as shown above, and you're done!
Netscape 6.x
Netscape 6.x changes almost everything about the mail setup process, so we need some more screenshots and instructions. First, you will need to open the Netscape mail program. To do this, have Netscape open, find Tasks on the top of your screen and choose Mail. If this is the very first time that you have opened the Netscape mail program, it will probably want to start a setup wizard that will ask you some questions about your email account. If this happens, just give it the information it needs by looking at the following screenshots and explanations. Also, if you have a mail account from a previous provider, it is usually easier to delete this and make a new one than it is to modify the old one for use with GWE.
If the wizard does not start, we can setup your mail account manually. After starting the mail program, click on the Edit button on the top of the mail screen and then choose Mail/News Account Settings. Doing this will take you to a screen that looks like the following:

Fill out the screen with your own information using the above screenshot as a guide. If you have a mail account with a previous provider, you can remove it here with the Delete button in the lower left. After you do this, you can click the New Account button to be taken through a setup wizard. Using the screenshots above and below will give you all the information you will need to complete the setup wizard. When you're done here, click on the Server line in the upper left corner of the screen. This will take you to the screen below:

There's really no information to type in here, just make sure that your Server screen looks like the one immediately above. Next, click on the Outgoing (SMTP) Server line in the upper left and you will be taken to the screen below:

The only thing to do on this screen is to make sure the Server Name is "gwe.net" and that the check box called "Always use name and password" is unchecked. After this, click on the "OK" button on the bottom right, and you're done!
